THROWBACK JOINTS: BIG PUN X RAS KASS X RICK ROSS X SLUM VILLAGE (STILL DIGGIN')
While I was going through my archive of music to put together my latest project "
Diggin' in the Tapes" (available for free download
HERE) I also came across a lot of old cd's, and Dat's of joints leaked to me by labels, artist and managers for placement on my mixtapes. I decided to start posting these joints in their entirety (meaning no tags or mix cut offs). Some of these joints I am sure are available on the web but for those of you who may of not come across these joints yet, this is for you. There is a lot more where these came from so keep checking in on us to see what joints I have posted. I will posting the joints randomly and in no chronological order. So you might get a leak I got in 2005 in the same post of a joint i got in 1995. In this edition of "Still Diggin'" I have a joint leaked to me by Rick Ross right before he exploded on the scene with "Hustlin". I also came across a CD of leaks given to me by Loud Records (which I also worked for) which included leaks from Pun, Tha Liks, and other Loud artist. I also found a cd labeled "Leak for DJ EFN mixtapes" from Slum Village which is of the joint "Get Live".
One of my all time favorite records that I leaked via my mixtapes has to be the
Ras Kass - Home Sweet Home record which was leaked to me by someone at Priority Records. I have always been a Ras Kass fan, even before I met the homie so getting my hands on that leak was very special at the time. The reason that record was special was cuz of the controversy behind it. I am not 100% on all the details but that same beat was given to Styles P. Styles P made noise with his version of the record entitled "We gon Make it" but Ras was highly upset with Alchemist for giving that record to someone else. I am sure there is a lot more to the story but my bacardi brain doesn't remember it all. I personally like Ras's version better so it was my pleasure to help his version be heard at that time.
